Edison Chen: How to Customize Your Own NIKE CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ (Museum) Shoes

Given the context for this shoe, I will say it's a pretty creative design. While many purists will argue otherwise against intentionally distressing a shoe for the purpose of a "faux vintage" aesthetic, CLOT's back-story makes this an interesting release...

"Originally designed for clay courts before taking on the streets, the Nike CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ was created with the concept of creating a “future throwback of now”. Edison Chen, co-founder of CLOT says, “the tennis classic was a shoe I have liked since Nike started doing the NSW line. This shoe fits in with our concept, which is a look back at the shoes and how we interpret them today in 2012.” Chen adds, “maybe 50 years from now they will still be sought after because of its originality. I hope this becomes a reality and one day it is in a museum all used and torn and worn. We want to give you this futuristic experience now with a touch of Chinese craft and wit.” On 22 February, Edison will be demonstrating how to create your own unique version of Tennis Classics in store at JUICE Hong Kong. He will select 10 pairs of Tennis Classics and use different tools and the CLOT sandpaper to further enhance and put his personal touch on the shoes. These 10 pairs of Nike CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ will be sold to the first 10 fans in the store.
