Comme des Garcons Junya Watanabe MAN Sweat Duffle Coat

Love the style and design of the coat but combined with a much more casual material...

An interesting new piece has released from the Comme des Garcons Junya Watanabe MAN Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The Sweat Duffle Coat perfectly represents what we appreciate the most of the brand – taking classics into a new direction via material use. The classic duffle coat comes in sweat material, featuring a bi-tonal upper and of course the obligatory toggles." - High Snobiety

visvim SS Picaro Shirt

Visvim with a clean take incorporating traditional western materials and styles...

"Over the past few weeks, visvim has steadily been rolling out pieces in conjunction with the release of their Fall/Winter 2011 collection, “Dissertation on Humanity in Manufacturing.” The recent collection from the Japanese fashion house showcases an affinity for custom denim wovens that take pointers from vintage Western-wear. The SS Picaro Shirt tastefully applies suede leather shoulder embellishments to the shoulders while contrasting colorways cover the dual pockets on the chest. Muted color choices nicely accent the natural denim without appearing passé. Four colorways are now available through Samplekickz." - Hypebeast

Vans Vault x Taka Hayashi Fall 2011 – Sk8 Hi TX LX and Derby TH LX

Dig the Sk8 Hi's...

"Vans Vault continues to work with Japanese designer Taka Hayashi on footwear. For Fall 2011 the two present the Sk8 Hi TH LX and the Derby TH LX. Both feature premium material uppers and a series of special design elements and features, making them stand out from the regular Vault line-up. We especially like the Crepe soled Derby with its mixed leather/suede upper this season.
Detailed images of all 4 sneakers follow after the jump." - High Snobiety

Mutewatch

Would need to see this in person to really consider it. However, the concept and design has caught my interest...

"You're not going to find a watch more minimal than this. The Mutewatch ($260) sits somewhere between a rubber bracelet and a touchscreen gadget, relying on a tap to activate it and swipes to cycle through its clock, alarm, and timer functions. Its motion sensor registers movement and automatically adjusts the strength of its vibration notifications, making sure you never miss an appointment. [Scouted by Levin, Brian & Nico]" - Uncrate

Adidas Adipure Trainer

Adidas joins the ranks of Vibram and Nike with footwear designs geared more towards a natural "barefoot" feel...

"Most so-called "barefoot" running shoes are designed for use in that most natural of environments: nature. The Adidas Adipure Trainer ($90) acknowledges that for those of us in less-than-perfect climates, we have no choice but to train indoors. As such, it's designed for use at the gym, with an independent toe separation design and quarter-inch profile, allowing for natural movement of your foot, strengthening rarely-used muscles while improving balance, agility, and speed." - Uncrate

nanamica Fall/Winter 2011 Bag Collection

"Next to their Gore-Tex outerwear, the bags by Japanese brand nanamica are every season among our favorite. For Fall/Winter 2011 they have just released new cycling packs, day packs and messenger bags. Each style comes in overall three colorways, one classic herringbone version and two Cordura nylon versions. Our choice falls onto the herringbone cycling pack and day pack this season.
Take a look at the others after the jump." - High Snobiety

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Skeleton- 08.20.11

The core behind Lamborghini's latest automotive marvel...

"Spotted at The Quail, this Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is a beast of a car ~ and not just visually… one of the most fascinating things at the Quail was seeing the car stripped down to its carbon fiber chassis and all that is inside it. It’s their fastest production car Lamborghini has ever made ~ and drew quite the crowd of enthusiasts and buyers. On a sillier note, their uniforms were polo shirts with the Lamborghini signature bull looking much like the Big Polo Ponies ~ even with the orange matching the Aventador popping off their blue. Titanic Taxonomy of Wrestler Names Print

Cause you always wondered about the "Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage...," name origins...

"Wouldn't life be more fun if we all had wrestling names? Jimmy "The Sorcerer" Page? "The Social Assassin" Larry David? Plaxico "Accidental Discharge" Burress? Yes, it definitely would, but we doubt we could get away with calling ourselves "Fabulous," "Great," or "Rowdy," so we'll just have to live vicariously through the Titanic Taxonomy of Wrestler Names Print ($25). Featuring 382 monikers spread across an 18" x 24" area, it's a great source of inspiration for anyone who's job it is to give names to saturday morning cartoon supervillains." - Uncrate

Cirrus Ice Ball Press

Mmm...a perfect sphere of frozen beverage enhancement...

"If you're drinking meticulously-aged scotch but diluting it down by using traditional ice cubes, you're doing it wrong. The Cirrus Ice Ball Press ($800) chills your favorite high-end hooch in the most delicate way possible, using its single oversized sphere shape to minimize surface area and therefore the water that makes its way into your drink. Simply set a chunk of ice between the two halves, place the top half on the guide rails, and let gravity do its thing — in about a minute you'll have a perfect 2.75-inch diameter ice ball with which you can chill your drinks and amaze your guests." - Uncrate

Tanner Krolle Archive York Slim Line Briefcase

Classy, period.

"We were going to write something profound and witty about the Tanner Krolle Archive York Slim Line Briefcase (£1,250; roughly $2,050), but since we spent the better part of an hour trying to procure a decent image from their shitty Flash-based interface, we're instead going to say that it's inspired by the company's classic '50s document case, sports an updated design ready to carry your smartphone, laptop, charger, pens, business cards, and paperwork, and comes in cognac or black with Paladium-plated brass hardware." - Uncrate

John Loughlin – TiGr Titanium Bike Lock

Interesting design and apparently quality functionality (based on the amount of backers on the kickstarter)...

"Necessity spawn ingenuity, such as the TiGr Titanium Bike Lock by New Jersey native John Loughlin. While modern bike are perfect illustrations of technical advancements and material sciences, bike locks are just the opposite. Primarily based on designs concoct decades ago, bike locks are cumbersome if not eye sores opposite to a bike’s sleek silhouette. A testament to the need of something different? Loughlin’s submission to KICKSTARTER received $108,065 in sponsorship, or about 288% over his asked amount of $37,000.

An avid cyclist, Loughlin devised the TiGr Bike Lock as a solution. Simply comprised of a thin titanium stripe and lock cylinder, Loughlin’s creation is flexible enough wrap around an object up to 5 1/2″ in diameter. Thus, secure your 2-wheel steed around any average traffic sign poles, street lamp posts, and others. Coated with a protective paint, the TiGr is light enough (and slim) to be store anywhere. But just how strong is this thin stripe of metal? Like any locks, the TiGr is just a deterrent to any potential theft, though the high strength-to-weight ratio (the highest among any metals) will certainly increase a bike thief’s frustration. Still not a believer? Check out the extensive video of torture tests TiGr was put through after the jump." - Freshness

nano universe x Tricker’s Boots

Definitely one of my favorite design collabs for Tricker's to date. The contrast is amazing...

"As a traditional British shoe maker, Tricker’s products are high in quality yet less experimental in style. Only in the recent times, Tricker’s have gained popularity amongst Japanese brands and collaborative projects became commonplace. The latest label to place an exclusive order is the Japanese select store, nano universe who designed these unique multi-colored boots. Each of the four panels are constructed from a different colored leather and suede materials, creating an almost sneaker-like break down. Both of the items are currently available on pre-order from nano universe Library online store and delivery will take place around early September."

Nike Huarache Free 2012 – Grey/Blue + Black/Yellow | Preview

Still a fan of the Huarache upper. Curious how these feel with the Free sole...

"Evident that the pursuit of innovation is an endless journey. When Nike first introduced the Huarache, inspired by traditional sandals worn in Mexico, it couldn’t fully replicate one particular aspect, the full range of motion from a sandal’s thin flexible outsole. That all changed in 2004 when introduced another cutting edge technology, the Free. In Huarache Free 2012, an upcoming “hybrid” model where the marriage of the two – a snug fit Huarache upper and the articulated Free outsole, finally achieved the intended goals set by the original Huarache, to have a sneaker worn like a sandal. Expect the Free sole to appear on other unorthodox designs in future releases. via: NUMELO" - Freshness

DJ Clark Kent x Nike LeBron 8 – “112″

Another shoe from Nike that gets the DJ Clark Kent "112" colorway treatment...

"At the rate he’s going, ’s abilities as a sneaker designer may someday rival his skill set as a DJ/record producer. The latest exhibit — a Nike LeBron 8 done up in the color scheme of the 112 Pack from a few years ago. And while essentially a repeat of the LeBron 7 112, this latter model is a superior framework for the familiar black/elephant/neon elements that sneaker aficionados have come to love. Regretably, these will likely be a friends and family release, so try not to dwell on the tragic near impossibility of obtaining your own pair while you gaze at more images following the jump. via: Air_Andy/R3TRO" - Freshness

Levi’s – Made in Japan Collection

Curious about the quality of the denim that's sourced. The craftsmanship is there from Japan, but who was responsible for the actual denim used?

"The denim is the corner stone of work wear and Levi’s led the jeans market in America and around the world. Yet on the other side of the world, Japanese manufacturers took notice of the hard wearing fabric and produced their own denim which differed from the US made products. Levi’s Japan are paying homage to their denim roots by launching the Made in Japan collection made up of 505 and 551 styles. Each silhouette is available in Selvedge Denim and Tint Denim. The back pocket imitates the shape used in the 60′s and chain stitching is used on each hem. Last but not the least, hidden away on the pocket lining, there is a vintage graphic screen printed to show the long history of the Levi’s brand. All of the denims are currently in the inventory at the Levi’s E-Shop in Japan." - Freshness

Naked & Famous Glow In The Dark Raw Denim

Purely a novelty, but an interesting one to be combined with selvedge denim...

"Canadian premium denim brand Naked & Famous is known to do things a little different every once in a while. This week they present their new glow in the dark Japanese raw denim. It is not the first time we see this, but it is certainly the best one we have come across so far, because these do not glow a little, they shine. Most importantly, they look completely normal when not in the dark.
“The jeans work because we apply a phosphorescent coating to the fabric in Japan. This coating is baked into the fabric and will absorb light and slowly release that light with an emanating green glow, just like those Glow in the Dark stickers we had on our ceiling as a kid. Another fun aspect of the jeans is after you beat them up a bit the wear patterns will cause the coating to fade in certain parts of the jean and will create a unique piece of glowing art!”
The limited edition model is now available exclusively at Barneys New York and Barneys COOP in the US and goes for 240 USD." - High Snobiety
