UNDERCOVER x UNIQLO – UU Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Lookbook

Sigh, when will there be a Uniqlo in San Francisco? This should be an awesome collection...

"The much anticipated team-up from and is almost here, with the lookbook for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection of the project arriving to give a more in-depth look at what’s in store. The images promise a range that will cover the whole family, as the designed set aims to outfit all ages. Interestingly enough, Takahashi actually had a fair amount of input from his wife in the design process this time around, perhaps influencing the broad ranging familial fare. Stay with us after the jump for the shots of the UU Spring/Summer 2012 collection lookbook from and UNIQLO, and be on the lookout for the March 16th release, which will be available at the three Manhattan locations, the mecca of UNIQLO Ginza, and other select accounts around the world." - Freshness

Nike Foamposite One Galaxy Sells for Over 70′000 USD

Seriously, are people just insane nowadays? My initial reaction is that this is purely hype and a joke. Bidders are bumping up the price intentionally to help boost hype. The likelihood of these actually selling for this high of a price, compared to other shoes that are 100x more rare and sought after, just doesn't make any sense at all...

"Recently the crazy stories about new Nike and Jordan releases just do not stop. First the mess around the Jordan 11 Concord drop, with people getting hurt and this week a new frenzy around the Nike Foamposite One Galaxy. Lines in front of stores have started early in the week, with people camping out for days to get their hands on a pair.

Some might have thought that eBay was the best way to go… well, in that case you were wrong. Still 3 hours to go, a current auction of the sneaker in a size 10 has reached bids of up to 70′000 USD. Now you just have to choose if you want an apartment, a nice car or a pair of sneakers.

What are your thoughts on this? Tell us  in the comments." - High Snobiety

The Independents – Kate Upton by Sebastian Faena for MUSE Magazine

Kate Upton is a much better "Marilyn" than Lindsay Lohan for sure...

"Not a day goes by where Kate Upton does not pop up somewhere. She certainly makes sure to keep people talking. After the Beach Bunny Campaign, feature in Esquite Magazine and most notably the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Cover, here comes the latest from Italian magazine MUSE.
Similar to the Lindsay Lohan Playboy Shoot, Upton also was styled in a similar way, reminding of Marilyn Monroe times.

The History of Nike x Stussy

The Air Huarache LE's are probably my favorite out of their current collabs...

"In the rapid realm of the internet, collaborations and projects that once ignited the sneaker realm can often fade out of memory a bit too quickly thanks to the collective focus on the next big thing. For that reason, retrospectives like this one on the history of Stussy x Nike collaborative projects are a great way to crystallize the united efforts of these two brands and also serve as a bit of a history lesson. The long standing partnership stretches back to the dawn of the millennium, with the above pictured duo of Stussy x Air Huarache LE’s hitting shelves in 2000. Follow us after the jump to get a complete look of everything that’s gone down between these two giants in their fields after the jump, a gallery that proceeds from earliest to latest, culminating in last year’s Stussy x Nike Sky Force 88 Mid set." - Freshness

Nike To Officially Join “Linsanity” – Nike Basketball Extends Jeremy Lin’s Contract and a Hyperfuse 2011 P.E.

More exciting news regarding Jeremy Lin's success, Nike to extend his contract and potentially give him a signature shoe...

"A raise to stardom that caught even the most seasoned sports reporters off guard, the success of Jeremy Lin reached a culmination of sort today as Nike extended its contract with the New York Knicks point guard. An extension to the original 2010 contract Lin signed after graduating from Harvard and before his rookie season at Golden State Warriors, the purported deal also offers Lin with his own signature footwear, rumored as the Hyperfuse 2011 “Linsanity” P.E. in Knicks’ coloways of orange, blue, and white. While no details are available at this time. will most likely coincide Lin’s recent fame, both here but especially abroad in China, with a new marketing campaign. The news, first reported by Beijing Business Today and ESPN Radio, is seen by some as a preemptive move by Nike before its Chinese competitors, such as Li Ning and Peak Sports, make their offers to Lin. More information to come as all sides pan out all the details. In the meantime, Nike Basketball just updated its site with a post titled “When Your Number Is Called, Be Ready.”

When your number is called, be ready.
might not have been a household name a few weeks ago, but he was still in the gym. Still putting in time to be the best player that he could be because he believed. Through being undrafted and cut, and then sitting on the bench in New York, Lin believed he would get his opportunity to show that he belonged in the . He did get that opportunity and when it arrived, he was ready. Basketball never stopped for Lin, even when the circumstances were not what he had hoped.
While a 6-foot-3 point guard from Harvard isn’t the prototypical NBA player, when you boil it down, what matters isn’t who you are, but what you can do. Thanks to his hard work ethic and commitment to getting better, Lin has proven he can do the things necessary to be an NBA point guard. In the past two weeks, he’s shown he can be the starting point guard for a team that was desperate for stability.
Since Lin has taken over the reins at the one spot, the Knicks have won seven straight games. Lin is averaging 24.4 points and 9 assists per game over those seven victories. He’s getting his teammates -all of them involved and he’s changed the spirit of the team. He’s gone from last man on the bench to playing under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden and his transition has been a smooth one because he was ready. Whether you’re playing under bright lights with the biggest stars in the game or in a dimly-lit gym by yourself, play for the right reasons, train as though you’re training for your big break and when it comes, you’ll be ready." - Freshness

Empty Memory by Logical Art

A bit on the pricier side for the functionality, but the design is probably one of the best ones I've seen to date...

"Today we present the Empty Memory Collection by Logical Art. The jewelry collection that also acts as USB sticks are designed and crafted by Yoo-Kyung Shin and Hanhsi Chen. Their idea was to make the technology invisible. The outcome are two beautiful styles of USB sticks in different colors.

You can purchase them now from Logical Art." - High Snobiety

Nike Lunar Safari

The Safari will always be one of my all-time favorites from Nike. Although, I'm not totally convinced on the appearnce of the Lunar Safari. If the comfort level works out, it might change my feelings about the shoe and it's current design...

"In case you thought that was it already, with the new Lunarglide +4, the Flyknit Racer and the new HTM stuff… well, it’s not. Here is another great sneaker, that will release later this year.
Combining once again their history and future, Nike presents the Lunar Safari. As part of the Fall 2012 Nike Track & Field Collection it will be available globally beginning July 1.

Jeremy Lin ‘Linsanity’ Time Magazine Cover

Not particularly a fan of the US/European cover. However, this is a great shot of the latest NBA sensation, Jeremy Lin. It's been amazing watching his progress on the Knicks. Congrats to him and his family...

Nike Lunar Flow Woven QS

I'm a big fan of the Nike Woven. However, I'm a bit conflicted with the combination of the Lunar Flow and Woven. Not sure if this is going to stay around in their general line up, it might just be an experiment...

"Here comes an interesting new limited edition release from Nike – the Nike Lunar Flow Woven QS. The still rather new Lunar Flow, the popular modern update of the Air Flow, comes back in two colorways Spring/Summer 2012 with a woven upper. Having olive and anthracite suede bases, the woven parts make for a nice and special accent on the sneaker upper. We especially like the olive colorway with the contrasting soft orange lining and heel tab.
The Nike Lunar Flow Woven QS sneakers will release on February 25th, at atmos.

Edison Chen: How to Customize Your Own NIKE CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ (Museum) Shoes

Given the context for this shoe, I will say it's a pretty creative design. While many purists will argue otherwise against intentionally distressing a shoe for the purpose of a "faux vintage" aesthetic, CLOT's back-story makes this an interesting release...

"Originally designed for clay courts before taking on the streets, the Nike CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ was created with the concept of creating a “future throwback of now”. Edison Chen, co-founder of CLOT says, “the tennis classic was a shoe I have liked since Nike started doing the NSW line. This shoe fits in with our concept, which is a look back at the shoes and how we interpret them today in 2012.” Chen adds, “maybe 50 years from now they will still be sought after because of its originality. I hope this becomes a reality and one day it is in a museum all used and torn and worn. We want to give you this futuristic experience now with a touch of Chinese craft and wit.” On 22 February, Edison will be demonstrating how to create your own unique version of Tennis Classics in store at JUICE Hong Kong. He will select 10 pairs of Tennis Classics and use different tools and the CLOT sandpaper to further enhance and put his personal touch on the shoes. These 10 pairs of Nike CLOT Tennis Classic AC TZ will be sold to the first 10 fans in the store.

Christian Louboutin Golfito Wingtip Sneaker – New Colorways

While I've already posted about these, I wanted to get a quick update in with the brown colorway. Likely the best pair of men's footwear I've seen by Louboutin to date. While I love the Brogue styling on most footwear nowadays, I would likely much rather spend on a pair of boots from Tricker's or Alden with Brogue accents than these sneakers. Even if they are Louboutins...

"This week Christian Louboutin has released new colorways of the Golfito – the newly introduced wingtip sneaker from his Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. The low top sneaker comes in a white/light blue and a very clean all light brown leather version. We would definitely not mind seeing a little more solid pieces such as the Golfito in the collection." - High Snobiety

New Balance Made in UK 1500 Fall/Winter 2012

The charcoal/orange colorway is looking pretty solid for this release...

"New Balance has a rather solid array of footwear in store come Fall/Winter 2012; take these 2 Made in UK 1500’s for example. These 2 guys make use of a nice mesh and nubuck upper in some highly wearable colors. Each shoe is predominantly dark (one being dark charcoal and the other what appears to be a very deep navy) with nice accenting colors in a light blue and an orange.

Mattel: Official Back To The Future Hover Board...

For all those fortunate enough to pick up a pair of Mags, well...here's the other piece of puzzle...

"There have been hundreds of replicas already, but now the time has finally come. Shortly after Nike released the Nike MAG, Mattel has announced that it will be producing the Back To The Future Hover Board.
“Back to the Future Hover Board: Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually “hover” – check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 – March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don’t receive the minimum orders, won’t go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month. (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)”
Now we just have to see if they will be getting enough pre-orders. We are not worried." - High Snobiety

Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Sierra Trek Hi LX

Yet another great release from Taka Hayashi for Vans. Love the subtle brogue accents...

"Continuing the successful Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH collaborations, the Japanese-born designer lays claim to the latest silhouette iteration titled the TH Sierra Trek Hi LX. Consistent with past footwear releases, the ongoing collaborative sees not only an original model introduction, but also an amplified, premium upper construction and detailing. Polished leather comprises the entirety of the upper with classic stitch down construction and a crepe outsole serving as the foundation for the mid-top boot/sneaker fusion. Contrasting stitching reflects the tubular tan laces while unique brogue detailing sees its way to the rear heel. Those in the market can find availability through Bows & Arrows for a retail of $200 USD." - Hypebeast

Barbara Walters Interviews David Choe | Video

David Choe's interview with Barbara Walters. Interesting way to go about it and a very modest response. The man just wants to continue living life the way he did before, still a recognized artist...but not constantly under the scrutiny of media and at the loss of his privacy...

"You know all those time machine fantasies you have where you go back in time and cop all the right stocks to sky rocket your net worth? David Choe is basically living that fantasy right now, with the Facebook stock he got in exchange for painting their offices back in 2005 being worth an estimate $200 million now that the company will be going public. In an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, David sits down to discuss the details surrounding his sudden explosion of wealth, which he actually estimates puts him over the $200 million mark being thrown around, and goes on to explain why it isn’t all positive for him. Follow us after the jump to check out the interview with David Choe, who is now no doubt one of the most successful graffiti artist ever thanks to his wise investment." - Freshness

Heart Part

Green, creative and functional dining utensils...

"Share food with a loved one with Heart Part, a cleverly designed eating utensil that opens up into two pieces combining fork, knife and scoop. Recently spotted at the NY International Gift Fair by our friend Alissia Melka-Teichroew of byAMT design studio, the Heart Part appeals to both food and design nerds with its smart use of form and space.

As possibly the perfect—or at least the cutest—alternative to wasteful plastic cutlery, the Heart Part is made entirely of biodegradable polystyrene, and the dishwasher-friendly parts use 66% less plastic than regular cutlery. Besides minimizing the environmental impact of the everyday toss-away—an estimated 40 billion pieces of plastic are dumped in the world's landfills each year—creator Fatima Fazal makes a social gesture by donating nine percent of profits to charity.

Heart Part comes in five colors including fluorescent green and orange, rose, teal and black, and comes in packs of 10. To snag one for your next picnic or cheese party, head online to iHeart This or The Future Perfect where they sell for just $10 a set. " - Graham Hiemstra for Cool Hunting

Deglon Meeting Knife Set

The design is genius. The next question is quality...

"You don't need to appreciate clever design to like the Deglon Meeting Knife Set ($740) — but it helps. Crafted from high-quality stainless steel, this ingenious set includes a 3-1/4-inch paring knife, 5-1/4-inch utility knife, 8-inch chef knife, and 8-3/4-inch slicer, alternatively made with an internal cavity or shaped to go inside one, such that the entire set fits into the included steel block using roughly the same amount of space as a standard chef's knife — which also makes it perfect for those times when space is at a premium." - Uncrate
