Honey For All Occasions...

Mmm...sweet goodness!

"The Savannah Bee Company recently released a new trio of honey created for purposeful pairings. Their Cheese, Grill and Tea honeys are a finely tuned food accompaniment, utilizing the golden nectar's subtle sweetness.

The Cheese honey is rich and full, pairing well with salty cheeses while the Grill honey caramelizes barbecued fare, adding a hint of sweetness without overpowering. Tea honey easily infuses any tea, upping the antioxidant level.

The honeys are available online from the Savannah Bee Company for $12 each."

Nitrous Boosted Espresso...

Fast and the what? Nitrous as common place in race-tuned street vehicles is a thing of the past. However, it's found it's way to being the prime source in powering this compact Espresso maker. The Mypressi Twist Espresso Maker proves that.

"With no cord or power button, the new Twist espresso maker relies simply on the power of standard recyclable N2O cartridges to deliver each flavorful shot. The portable espresso maker, inspired by the founder's coffee cravings while on his honeymoon, uses either grounds or convenient ESE pods and weighs just over two pounds—an ideal travel companion for java-heads." - Cool Hunting

Sounds Like Rain & Thunder...

Woodgrain...green...and provides solid sound. A great combination of style and function.

"Go green while upgrading your lousy pack-in earphones with ThinkSound Rain & Thunder Headphones ($75-$100). Both pairs of headphones feature wooden bodies sourced from renewable sources, and come in recycled, bleach-free packaging with a cotton carrying pouch that's sewn from renewable sources. Oh, and they sound good too, thanks to the Rain's 9mm drivers that offer exceptional clarity, or the aptly-named Thunder's 10mm drivers tuned to provide thumping bass." - Uncrate

Vitra Haus: Herzog & de Meuron...

Outstanding! The stacking attribute is amazing!

"The Vitra Haus looks fascinating from every angle. A few pictures can't do the design justice. However, the U.K. design blog designboom has gotten a fantastic first look, publishing a stockpile of images (including these) from both the exterior and interior."- Cool Hunting

The Loom...

Alexander Valdman of Homeroom Clothing writes about his research regarding building your own loom to create your own denim. As you can see, it's a substantial amount of work. However, a fine craft and one that very few have truly embraced and done right.

Super7 Stormtrooper Shogun...

Super7 announces that their highly anticipated Stormtrooper Shogun figure will release soon, with a price tag of $300.00. The figure itself is about 24" tall and is themed after the classic "jumbo" shogun warriors originally made by Popy of Japan and reproduced stateside by Mattel. The Stormtrooper also features the firing fist mechanism that is common among the jumbo shogun warriors.

"Children growing up in the 70s and 80s had their lives touched by two pop culture phenomena: the Star Wars saga and Jumbo Machinder toys (marketed in the US as Shogun Warriors).   Acclaimed toy design firm Super7 has combined Star Wars characters with the towering Japanese Super Robot aesthetic to create a collectible that could only have been imagined in the past.  This marks the first authentic Super Shogun produced in over twenty-five years.

The Star Wars Stormtrooper Super Shogun stands a whopping 24 inches tall, and includes all of the features that you expect from an authentic Jumbo: free rotating wheels on the bottom of his feet, and a spring-loaded Rocket Punch firing fist.   Utilizing the same techniques implemented by Japanese toy manufacturers in the 1970s, the Super Shogun is constructed from durable, blow-molded polyethylene with a painted vinyl helmet.  The figure is articulated at the neck and shoulders, and includes a removable, highly-detailed BlasTech E-11 laser blaster, which even features a poseable stock that unfolds from below the barrel.  Collectors of both Japanese and Star Wars memorabilia are sure to be impressed with the care taken to fuse the disparate concepts into its own  one unique entity.

Packaged in a dynamically illustrated gift box, each Stormtrooper is individually serial numbered as part of this one- time limited edition production run.    As a special bonus, metallic foil stickers are included to allow fans the option to customize the torso with the character name in English or in Japanese." - Super7

Arbito: Far Out West 02.20.10...

Arbito will be visiting San Francisco this weekend for his solo show at Super7 in Japan Town. He will have several new 1/1 pieces available exclusively for the show. I'm sure these will sell out, and I regret not being able to make it this weekend. The new clear Seekers with GID skulls and special Super7 insides are my favorites for his show. Images below and please visit the link after for further details.

"It’s awesome to be showing at Super 7 again, last time was a blast and I think this show will be even better!

My show, ‘Far Out West’ is dedicated to my favorite part of the world… the west coast and to all the crazies who live here.

There will also be premium 1/1 seekers, a few Patty’s and Sammy’s, and maybe a few other surprises!

So swing by and have a beer, say hello. Hope to see you there!

Gemballa - MIG U1 Enzo...

An absolute automotive marvel...

"For the last 27 years, automobile tinker Uwe Gemballa and the firm he established, Gemballa, been advancing the proud engineering heritage of Porsche further with his modified exotic “beast” (i.e. a twin-turbo variant of the Porsche Carrera GT Supercar).  More recently, innovator took on a brand new challenge, to enhance the another exotic super car, the Ferrari Enzo, and pushing the envelope of performance once again.
Not just simple modified Ferrai Enzo, but completely re-engineered, the Gemballa MIG-U1had its component swapped out for the lightweight carbon fiber.  A customized aerodynamic kit along with a new brake cooling housing means driver could max out in speed with the reassurance that he (or her) is still in control of the vehicle.  Like a true “bespoke” super car, all elements both inside and out of the car are tailored to the owner’s specific needs and/or desires.  The result is a 700-hp monstrosity that could easily blow out the competition.  Unfortunately, because the amount of work needed on each edition, only 25 will be build with 10 colors to select from." - Freshness

Nike's latest ad campaign. Quite an expensive one at that and extremely time consuming. It features multiple takes of each athlete then organized in a fluid manner to present what we see here. Absolutely amazing.

GOOD Magazine, Tokyo to Osaka...

What an amazing way to see Japan, via Fixie.

"As GOOD describes the project:

In the summer of 2009, 13 cyclists from Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco took their fixies to the Land of the Rising Sun for an ambitious undertaking: A 350-mile tour from Tokyo to Osaka. Their goal (along with survival) was to experience a more intimate kind of travel and make a documentary of their adventure.

Their forthcoming film, Tokyo to Osaka, will chronicle their seven-day journey, including the mechanical problems and injuries that tripped them up and the unexpected roadside barbeques and new friendships that made a cycling trip such a rewarding way to travel." - Prolly Is Not Probably

All Gone...

Starting in 2006, All Gone is a book that's been documenting each years "the finest of street culture." It features several products related to or referenced as part of "street culture", everything ranging from obvious fashion items, artwork, toys, and much more. Particularly, most of what's mentioned in there is sold out due to the immense amount of hype/popularity. Hence the title of the book, "All Gone." The copies of the books themselves lend their namesake to the very fact that even they sell out immediately and are only produced in limited runs. A great way to archive each year and all the hype that's generated around these products.

Puma Spinstar...

For all the dedicated and competitive riders out there, here's a pretty cool challenge for you all. Puma is working with Access Agency to put together this touring program to find participants willing to ride in a spin class and to see who can ride the longest among each group for some pretty sweet rewards.

"Enter our latest concept for Puma that we call SPINSTAR, which aligns perfectly with the brand image. It is a touring program that finds participants who can last the longest in a spin class, with Puma as the backdrop. Participants are offered a free pair of Puma sneakers and workout gear once they pass 2 hours (most spin classes run for 45 minutes). The winners of each session (which can last up to 8 hours) will receive the Puma bike and would then be invited to the final competition where the winner of the longest spin-class is crowned Puma SPINSTAR, receiving $25,000 cash along with $10,000 worth of Puma gear." - The Cool Hunter

KIKS and Chicks...

"Community of the sneaker nuts, by sneaker nuts, for sneaker nuts." - KIKS TYO

KIKS TYO is a Japanese apparel label that fuses two things together that typically appeal to the male sneakerhead audience.  The obvious...and women, most of which are models or even singing groups. However, those being their most recognized designs, the brand also fuels their appeal by using other cultural references within the sneaker community. Concepts featuring the classic Jumpman logo, utilizing color palettes that reflect signature colorways, and many other popular icons. They started with t-shirts and have since then expanded their offerings to accessories, bottoms, cut & sew, and many major collaborations with other brands relevant in the industry.
