Air Jordan III Black Cement – 2011 Retro

This is definitely good news for collectors who've missed out on the previous retros. Yes, many will argue the quality of the shoe compared to the previous versions, but I'm just happy to have an opportunity to add this to the collection as a retro...

"By now the legend has been discussed and dissected to the degree that Jordan diehards can, in their sleep, ably recite the pertinent facts with respect to the III —  how a former architect took over the design reigns for the third iteration of ’s signature shoe and ended up igniting a revolution. There is the risk that one can actually become bogged down by the weight of history, as the firsts are many and profound: the first appearance of the Jumpman logo, the first appearance of a visible air unit, the introduction of the famed elephant print. Meanwhile, as the player himself was coming into full command of his powers, Nike sponsored a coming out party that forever changed how athletes, and their shoes, are marketed.

And while the history is important, the Jordan diehard’s appreciation for the Air Jordan III can simply be captured by examining the following images. The Air Jordan III in the black/cement colorway is slated for a holiday 2011 release. For those who can’t wait, a full size run is available now at Marquee Sole." - Freshness
