Original Fake KAWS Karimoku Wood Companion Figure

Considering the use of wood for the previous 400% Kaws Bearbricks (1st release in lighter wood and the 2nd darker release collaboration with Nexus VII), this is a surprise at all for the Companion. It was more a matter of time and when KAWS decided to apply the treatment to another iconic figure of his.

Beautiful piece, however the price tag of $3000 USD is a bit steep for this release. The previous figure releases in this price range were the 4 foot Companions...

"Today we get a first look at one of the most exciting toy figures to come from Kaws and Original Fake in a while. The iconic Kaws Companion characters returns this Summer in a Karimoku Wood version. Priced at a round 3′000 USD and about 30 centimeters in size, the toy comes limited to only 100 pieces and will release signed and numbered by Kaws, starting May 28th, 2011.
