The North Face Purple Label – Windstopper Mountain Jacket

Yes, another TNF Purple Label product that is far out of reach for those not near Japan...

"The Windstopper material is superior in wind proofing and insulation, and these two properties make this Windstopper Mountain Jacket from The North Face Purple Label a strong companion against the cold weather. As far as the design of the jacket is concerned, it retains the staple mountain jacket silhouette, however the exterior material features a gray herringbone pattern, making the jacket suitable for city use as well as outdoor use. Contrasting the gray exterior fabric is The North Face logo on the chest and shoulder in red embroidery and they are matched by red inner lining. via: Intention Line" - Freshness

Koostik iPhone Dock...

The wood grain is certainly a nice touch, but I'm wondering how well the acoustics are based on the design in comparison to actual docks with speakers...

"Yes, you can get more sound out of your iPhone without hooking it up to a set of speakers. Koostik ($85-$90) offers natural acoustic amplification thanks to specially designed sound chambers and channels that create a boost of two to four times when an iPhone is placed in its central dock. As an added bonus, it's made from wood, so it'll look nice even when it's empty."

Loopwheeler – Sweat Jeans Prototype

Definitely recognize the quality and feel of Loopwheelers craftsmanship. However, knowing Loopwheeler's price point on their apparel, my fear is whether or not people will be able to justify a pair of Loopwheeler "Sweat Jeans" over a solid pair of Japanese denim? My interests are peaked with this whole "sweat jeans" idea though...

"Loopwheeler has been working on a secret project for some time and here is a preview of things to come in the near future. As they say, it is far from complete, but the basic idea has been materialized and it looks great so far. The Sweat Jeans is a pair of jeans made from sweat pants’ material, and is made from their famous loopwheeled cotton fabric. Pocket reinforcements are riveted for a denim like aesthetic, and it could come complete with zip fly as well. As this is the prototype sample, more modifications will be performed before it is ready for production. No final release dates are confirmed but keep your eyes on here for more information." - Freshness

The Story of Eames Furniture

A video from Gestalten TV discussing one of these most amazing furniture designers to date. "If it isn't functional, it isn't beautiful." - Charles Eames

"Gestalten.tv is proud to present an exclusive video interview with Marilyn Neuhart, author of The Story of Eames Furniture, and her husband John. Both have worked with the Eames Office in various capacities from the 1950s. Having been in close proximity to Charles and Ray Eames as well as the members of the Eames Office and their patron manufacturers for almost 30 years, the Neuharts had the extraordinary opportunity to absorb their stories. At their Los Angeles home, they tell the tale of working with Charles Eames in Gestalten.tv's latest look behind the Eames.

"A design geek's dream."
Alice Rawsthorn, The International Herald Tribune

"We ought to be grateful that instead of the hagiography we might expect of such a sumptuous book, it presents the warts-and-all view from inside the studio – at times, it's as though we're eavesdropping on the staff at the watercooler.”
Justin McGuirk, The Guardian

"This book has been put together with almost the same attention to detail as a piece of Eames furniture!"
Jasper Morrison

Size? x Nike Air Stab – Neon Pack

Another "Air Max 95" color-inspired Nike, this time the Air Stab. Likely one of the very few pairs of this shoe I would want to pick up...

"Among the various color schemes, materials, and prints that define iconic sneaker releases, few are as storied and sought after as Nike’s Neon Pack, which included such heavy hitters as the Neon Air Max 1, Neon Air Max 90 and the Neon Air Max 95. To some, the original releases of these shoes defined a true halcyon era in sneaker culture. It turns out though, that one shoe missed out on enshrinement in Neon Pack history – the Air Stab. Of course, the Stab (short for stability) has had top billing in a number of limited releases and collaborations, but now it is set to wear the neon green, gray, and black. Size?, one of the forerunners of sneaker (trainer!) culture in the UK, is releasing the 400 pairs of the Air Stab Neon Pack, in conjunction with the retailers’ 10th anniversary. Available December 3rd at Size?" - Freshness

NEIGHBORHOOD x PORTER – Wallet Collection

Neighborhood bringing that rockabilly flavor to Porter...

"Neighborhood and Porter have collaborated once again, this time releasing a series of leather accessories. Neighborhood, purveyors of biker-influenced fashion, and Porter, the accessories and luggage label, each bring their considerable strengths to this series, which is made up of two pouches, a card case, and a wallet. The balance of creative input might be slightly tilted towards Neighborhood, in this project; design highlights include wingtip-evoking tooled leather, the Neighborhood logo branded into the card case and pouch, and a heraldry print lining. Definite a welcome collection for fans of Neighborhood’s rockabilly and biker aesthetic. Or, for those looking for a more unique alternative to the Comme des Garcons zip wallet, the pouch would be a great substitute. Via Neighborhood. Available at Honeyee." - Freshness

New Balance x end clothing – A Heritage of New Balance

A historical look back to the early days of New Balance...

"New Balance had recently shared some rather treasured images with end clothing– a series of pictures and images that document the New Balance heritage, which began in 1906 selling arch supports to modify and make shoes more comfortable. Some of the images document Eleanor and Paul Kidd (who took over the company from Arthur Hall, a salesman turned business partner of William Riley, the founder of New Balance) at the NB showroom, and some others document the MIT track teams who had adopted the New Balance Trackster for their runs. Check out the full collection of images at endclothing’s flickr after the jump.

Experiencing Harris Tweed

After seeing the Nike Footscape Wovens at the outlets, I've always wondered about the process behind Harris Tweed...

"In association with Nike Sportswear, Steve Salter of Style Salvage took a trip to Scotland to gain a better understanding of the whole story regarding Harris Tweed. As one of the world’s most famous fabrics, the Harris Tweed Hebrides factory would serve as the perfect backdrop with considerable amounts of information highlighted regarding the heritage of the brand. This season already, we’ve seen a huge surge in the number of products utilizing Harris Tweed fabrics as the brand and its approved weavers hope to form a resurgence and continue onwards. Limited to 505 pieces, the 505 model was originally released in 1967 and features a slimmer fit relative to the brand’s time-tested 501 model. “Dead Drops” Preview...

Anonymous sharing through absolute randomness, locations identified only by word of mouth...

"I am pleased to preview ‘Dead Drops’ a new project which I started off as part of my ongoing EYEBEAM residency in NYC the last couple weeks. ‘Dead Drops’ is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. I am ‘injecting’ USB flash drives into walls, buildings and curbs accessable to anybody in public space. You are invited to go to these places (so far 5 in NYC) to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your files and date. Each dead drop contains a readme.txt file explaining the project. ‘Dead Drops’ is still in progress, to be continued here and in more cities. Full documentation, movie, map and ‘How to make your own dead drop’ manual coming soon! Stay tuned.

THE NORTH FACE Purple Label – “Gore-Tex” Trench Coat

Still wondering why it's so difficult to get TNF Purple Label stateside. The Gore-Tex Trench is simple and ideal for the winter weather here in the city...

"As we all know, THE NORTH FACE is not exactly what you call business formal or even business casual. However this time around, it looks like the label has stepped out of its norm and created a “ready for anything” trench coat you can wear to your important business meetings. THE NORTH FACE Purple Label “Gore-tex” Trench Coat does not only function according to its appearance. In other words, you don’t just look good in it, because the coat remains highly functional and true to the brand’s outdoors durability.

The “Gore-tex” Trench Coat is constructed to be tough, using cotton bonded with “Gore-tex” fabric. You never have to worry about ruining your business coat in unpleasant weather conditions anymore.
