A Visual History of Daft Punk Helmets
A great illustration detailing the variation of the Daft Punk Helmets...
"The visual aesthetic of Daft Punk has had just as much of an effect on their popularity as their groundbreaking music. Daft fan wolf_boy2027 put together a visual timeline regarding the evolution of the Daft Punk helmet as worn by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. The group has been highly visible over the last few months thanks to their inclusion in this season’s TRON: LEGACY movie." - Hypebeast - Eugene Kan

DJ Clark Kent x Nike Trainer SC 2010 ‘112′
Another addition to the "112 Pack" designed by DJ Clark Kent...
"DJ Clark Kent presents a ‘112′ version of the Nike Trainer SC 2010. Done in the elephant, 3M reflective, volt and black colorway seen across all of DJCK’s 112 releases, the sneaker is definitely one of the strongest SC 2010s yet. No word on a release." - High Snobiety

The Making Of Leica M9 | Video
I've always wondered what went into these cameras making them so desirable, collectible and costly...
"With market share, production capacity, bottom line, and other marketing mumbo jumbo on the minds of most business executives, it is quite difficult to find a company that still values the finite points of creating a work of art. It is harder still to find such company in the competitive world of consumer electronics. Then there is Leica, who kept the tradition of camera making as an art form and craftmenship since 1913, rather than a massive assembly line with insensate workers. Recently, a video crew from Luminous Landscape documented the making of the M9 Digital Rangefinder Camera, the flagship of the Leica product line. A fascinate and rare inside look at one of the most coveted gear in the world of photography. Enjoy! via: ACL" - Freshness

Air Jordan III (3) Retro – Black/Cement Grey
Another retro of the Threes slated for the 2011 Holidays...
"If the launch of Air Jordan III for Doernbecher Collection was any indication, this news will have any Jordan fans on the edge of their seats. Confirmed earlier today, Jordan Brand will be releasing the Air Jordan III (3) Retro in colorways Black/Cement Gray during Holiday 2011. As with all recent re-releases from Jordan Brand, one significant difference from the original, as indicated in these OG image, will be the branding. Instead of “Nike Air” lettering, this retro release will be branded with the Jumpman insignia only. Or course with its contrast colored sibling, the Air Jordan III (3) Retro in White/Grey Cement to come out early 2011, this will be an opportunity for fans to pair both off. via: SN//kixclusive" - Freshness

mastermind JAPAN x Lee Denim
Mastermind Japan applies a subtle touch of their styling to a classic pair of Americana, Lee Riders...
"mastermind JAPAN has collaborated with Lee on a nice classic pair of raw denim. Thankfully they did not overload the jeans with too many details and only added their logo tag on the inside, as well as their logo skull and bones stitching on the back pocket.
More detailed images of the denim follow after the jump." - High Snobiety

House Industries for Herman Miller Japan
"This time a custom House Industries block set commissioned by friends at Herman Miller Japan. I thought I’d try to roll all of my favorites into this one… Andy Warhol, Maria Montessori and, of course, the Herman Miller trifecta; Nelson, Eames and Girard.
Each set includes eight basswood children’s blocks dressed in House Industries numbers, shapes and patterns. The puzzle sides are based on the original Herman Miller furniture box that was used to deliver American modernism. We then packaged the “box” in a miniature corrugated shipping carton. Took us a while to sniff out the tiny brown kraft packing tape, but solving specky details like “tape scale” allows me to sleep at night. It was all made in the USA (Grand Rapids, Michigan) by Uncle Goose and Advance Packaging.
The House for Herman Miller Japan blocks are only available at the new Herman Miller showroom store in Tokyo, Japan." - House Industries - Blog

Bourbon Balls and Ice Brains
Another great way to cool your alcohol slowly with the Maker's Mark Bourbon Ball Mold. Similar to the silicone ice ball mold from Muji (Sold out until Jan 2011), but with 4x the ice making power...

Conmoto Travelmate Portable Fireplace
Mmm...roasty toasty in whichever room you want...
"Normally we wouldn't recommend carrying around fire in a suitcase, but we'll make an exception for the Conmoto Travelmate Portable Fireplace ($3,200). Made from black powder-coated steel, with glass partitions and a steel fuel holder, this briefcase-sized firebox burns bio-ethanol liquid fuel, is light enough to be carried anywhere, and looks so good that it'll demand attention no matter what room you're in." - Uncrate

byAMT Clé USB...
A clever and creative usb design...
"First reaction to byAMT’s Clé USB - the packaging is adorable! And i couldn’t help but thinking ~ this would be an awesome press kit! (I have little mounds of the usual branded USB key press kits in a pile… it’s fun when someone does something cool!) There’s something about the adorable 3D printed key that feels like it would unlock exciting secrets ~ a digital secret garden of sorts? Alissia even mentioned she’s going to start 3D printing logos right into them as well, which would be lovely to customize for gifts, giveaways, press kits, wedding pics, etc? A box of collectoins of keys holding memories would be so cute! Check out more pics of the unboxing on the next page..." - notcot.com

The Selby – Pharrell Williams At Home In Miami
Straight ballin'...
"Pharrell Williams is musical virtuoso, entrepreneur, fashion guru, artist, furniture designer, and now “Kidult”? Though he explained that he couldn’t lay claim in creating the term during a subsequent interview, he certainly lives by it at his penthouse duplex by Miami’s beautiful South Beach. Thanks to photographer Todd Selby and his ever popular photo site, The Selby (is in your place), we caught a glimpse of Williams’ playpen. Unlike most bachelor pad, William’s apartment wasn’t dark or filled with questionable paraphernalia. Instead, the light-filled space flanked with commissioned artworks by KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Keith Haring and other rare masterpieces. Not to mention the numerous Louis Vuitton trunks stacked neatly together. Take a brisk walk on the wrap around outdoor terrace or enjoy the 270 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, no matter how the term kidult will be define, we all want to have a bit of it now. See the rest of Pharrell’s apartment at The Selby." - Freshness

Awesome tribute to vintage tin Japanese toys in the form of a 1000% be@rbrick...

KAWS Companion Robert Lazzarini Version
I'm not entirely familiar with Lazzarini's work, but this collaboration with Kaws is a solid fusion of both artists' styles...
"Kaws has announced that next week he’ll be unveiling three new versions of his noted Companion figure as a collaborative effort with artist Robert Lazzarini. The three Companion figures are consistent with KAWS styling and manufacturing except for one marked difference, they each take on a unique form of deformation. Lazzarini’s influence is clear in the Companions which work to distort perspective, and appear to be almost melted into their new stances. Special molds were used to achieve the deformed look which Lazzarini has championed, and can be seen further in his Weapons Series. Keep your eyes peeled for a release at OriginalFake in Aoyama next week, and a drop on kawsone.com in January." - Hypebeast - Evan Silver

TDK Boombox: Ghetto Blaster Modernized...
TDK brings back an iconic piece from hip hop history and modernizes it for today's generation...
"With a clear nod to the iconic ghetto-blasters of the 80's TDK is bringing the classic back with their new line of sleek boomboxes updated for today's technology.
Currently there are two models, the 3 Speaker Boombox and the 2 Speaker Boombox. Apart from size, the primary difference is that the 3 Speaker model has a dedicated subwoofer in the center, which produces a fantastic vibration sure to get booties shaking. The 2 Speaker boombox features the same pair of 6-inch direct drive units from its big brother that solidify the classic look while offering crystal-clear sound, but adds a leather shoulder strap to the fixed, solid handle. Both stereos strike a balance between old and new with glossy finishes, touch screen control panels and the classic retro rectangular shape.
The analog switches typical of old-school blasters have been swapped out for touch sensitive buttons embedded into the front of the device, similar to those found on many smart phones. While all of the information displayed is digital, it has a decidedly analog feel, even including a retro-styled EQ. Controls include a left knob for controlling the power and volume and one on the right for toggling through radio stations or adjusting the settings. Both models have USB, 3.5mm and RCA auxiliary ports to connect a huge variety of music sources. There is also a larger auxiliary port that allows you to connect a guitar or microphone in case you want to join in the music magic.
The TDK boomboxes are an awesome reinvention of the classic portable device, both aesthetically and technically. They retain the character and size of shoulder-mounted music players but fit as nicely in a living room as they would on a stoop. And yes, they can be battery-powered in addition to being plugged in. The boomboxes will be available online starting January 2011 and at retail locations in February 2011 at $399 for the two speaker version and $499 for the three speaker one." - Cool Hunting - Josh Rubin

Sake Bomb Set
Definitely intriguing in terms of design and a conversation piece for sure...
"No, not that sake bomb. The Sake Bomb Set ($100) is a funky pouring vessel that keeps your hot sake hot or your cold sake cold inside something that looks like the cross between a mine and a blowfish. The cups sit on the outside of the spine for easy storage, and to draw that many more "what the hell is that?" questions at your next sushi party." -Uncrate
