Sir Kensington's Gourmet Scooping Ketchup

Mmm, gourmet ketchup! I looove ketchup...

"Just like regular soda, somewhere along the line ketchup — even name brand stuff like Heinz — went from being natural mixes to scary, high fructose corn syrup-filled goo. Sir Kensington's Gourmet Scooping Ketchup ($7) is out to rectify this situation, with two recipes (original and spiced) containing high-quality, all natural ingredients, and with a taste so refined that it demands to be scooped, not poured, squeezed, or shot out of a Super Soaker." - Uncrate

Takashi Murakami x Casio G-SHOCK Frogman Watch

Nice touch Murakami. I was wondering when he'd collab with Casio/G-Shock...

"Takashi Murakami helps celebrate the 40th anniversary of Japanese radio station Tokyo FM with this special G-SHOCK Frogman design. Having hosted the on-air “Art Dojo FM” show for the past 8 years, Murakami’s influence on the station is apparent through his weekly contributions. The watch itself plays off Murakami’s signature artwork, with the base featuring a translucent pink motif, accented with engraved artwork on the backside and a complimenting watch pillow decked out in a familiar flower print. Only 300 of these units were produced, officially launching on September 11th, 2010." - Hypebeast - L. Ruano

Stussy, keepin' it simple...

"Hanes has long been synonymous with utilitarian white tees as the brand has developed a strong name on the backs of quality, no frill staples. With previous collaborations including Deluxe and Supreme, the latest involves Stussy. A simple Stussy script logo is placed on the lower hem in black. Three t-shirts are bundled to a pack and come tagless. Available at Stussy Chapter stores." - Hypebeast

Definitely feelin' the backpack design. Alright North Face, bring that design stateside and we'll be set...

"The latest camouflage series from The North Face Purple Label takes inspiration from the camouflage pattern used by the Australian military. A duck hunter style pattern is unique and the lighter green and brown tones give it a softer feel than other conventional woodland or tiger stripe camouflage patterns. Included in the series are staple items such as the Klettersac, Kanga, Shoulder Strap Accessories Pocket, Base Camp Duffle, Utility Pocket and Wallet. The North Face logo is embroidered prominently on the front of the items with all straps and trims color coded in black. via: Chapter" - Freshness

DIY: Daft Punk Helmet

An insane amount of work, but the results are awesome...

"Volpin Props presents an impressive DIY-video on the process of making a notorious Daft Punk helmet. Unfortunately, this project was a one-off and no orders for duplicates will be taken.
'This video chronicles my odyssey with replicating the iconic gold Daft Punk helmet worn by Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo. Over the process, I took hundreds of pictures, mostly because my crummy digital camera I shoot with has a bum autofocus. What you see are the collection of all of these images, and a little hint of video as well.'" - Hypebeast - Petar Kujundzic

Directors Jackson Perry and Henry DeMaio provide a feel-good vibe with plenty of charming eye candy to visually interprete this uplifting jam. The track is taken from Mayer’s excellent debut A Strange Arrangement, which is out now via Stones Throw.

Gucci Vintage Carry-On Bag

Clean, simple, exquisite...ready for the refined jet setter to make an impression when boarding and exiting to that weekend soiree...

"Gucci re-appropriate a traveling staple with the creation of this vintage-inspired carry-on bag. Creative director Frida Giannini sought out to re-create some of Gucci’s former offerings dating back to the 60s. With this in mind, the bag features a material known as GG Plus which combines multiple layers of PVC to create a waterproof finish. The Gucci links logo is subtly printed with the final product resulting in a texturized finish.

Original Fake Graphic T-Shirts Fall/Winter 2010

OF's F/W 2010 Graphic Ts...a few of the designs I like from this launch...

"Since Original Fake is the brand of artist Kaws, the graphic t-shirts are obviously always among the favorite pieces of the collection. Also, since all the cut-and-sew and most accessories are produced in Japan, the t-shirts are still among the most affordable pieces in the line. The artist has once again produced a strong line-up of graphics for the new season.

OriginalFake – Fall/Winter 2010 Collection – Lookbook

OF's F/W 2010 designs are looking good, particularly this jacket below...

"Fresh off from his largest solo exhibition thus far, artist KAWS has much to celebrate this summer. And if so, then this would be the icing on the cake. Introducing the Fall/Winter Collection for 2010 from Original Fake, KAWS’s wildly successful collaborative venture with MEDICOM TOY of Japan. What started off as some printed t-shirts is now a full fledge label with a loyal following that might even make Apple envious. Surely, this season’s collection is not one to disappoint. There are plenty of collaborations, including ones with Loopwheeler, New Era, to PORTER. The staple collection of graphic t-shirts. The return of the highly sought after ear muffs, though not in leather this time. Still, the most intriguing aspect is the appropriation of styles – on one side the label still extrude the “freshness” of urban wear. And the other, a clear divergence to progressive designs. Fascinating to see what else OriginalFake has in store for later months. The first drop of Fall and Winter 2010 is currently available at its flagship store in Aoyama, with an expected arrival at other retailers around the globe in the coming weeks

Nike Air 1/2 Cent – Eggplant

Combine models of the Air Penny into one impressive hybrid and here are the results...

"Abrasive and slightly aggravating (since the voice-over was that of comedian Chris Rock), Penny Hardaway’s miniature doppelganger, Lil’ Penny, is getting quite the attention since the introduction of the Nike Air Half Cent. This holiday season, the company has even more surprise in-store – an Eggplant variant of the Nike Air 1/2 Cent. Feature the familiar translucent sole, iridescent upper, and the nestled holographic image of Lil’ Penny on the outsole. All wrapped up in the familiar Eggplant colorway of Foamposite. Set to launch this holiday season along with a set of Cranberry Air 1/2 Penny, online retailer MarqueeSole was able to obtain a few pairs for an early release. Very limited in quantity." - Freshness

Naked & Famous Denim 32oz Jeans

The heaviest I've worn is about 16oz...that's not even considered heavy with the weights from Iron Heart. For the time being though...N&F has to take the title for heaviest denim. I just want to try to break 'em in...I can't even begin to imagine the pain...

"Naked & Famous stake their claim in denim history with the world’s heaviest denim and their 32 oz model. Requiring some serious heavy-duty construction, the selvedge denim model is sure to elicit bloodied and bruised thumbs just from the buttoning process. As the pictures show, the denim stands-up on its own and will be limited to somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pairs.

Self-Lacing Nike Sneakers | Video

Go on...get your lazy on with this self-lacing feature. Reminds me of feature that would take inspiration from the "McFlys" in Back To The Future II...

"There is no need to wait till 2015 for self-lacing sneakers, because with a little bit of geeky creativity and an Arudino Microcontroller, Blake Bevin have recreated a pair of self-lacing Nike sneakers as inspired by Back To The Future II. Sure the product still looks rough around the edges (And by rough, we mean there is a huge exposed slab of circuit board tagged to the back of the kicks.) but there is no doubt that when you apply pressure with your foot, the laces tighten. The process can be reversed as simply as flicking the touch switch. Check out the sneakers, and hopefully Nike will be able to refine the work and perhaps come up with something similar so no one has to learn how to loop and do bunny ears anymore. via: Instructables" - Freshness

KAWS x Disney x Medicom Toy – Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket Toys

KAWS at it again with his classic "X" eyes and companion ears & gloves...

"One of contemporary art world’s best selling artist who has successfully traversed between high and commercial art, KAWS, has just affirmed his status as an indispensable figure in the contemporary art market with his first museum solo exhibition at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut. Amongst key pieces old and interesting ones new, is a pair of never seen before toy companions produced in conjunction with Medicom Toy (who also has a hand in KAWS’ clothing label, OriginalFake) and Disney. This pair of KAW-ified toys are none other than the little wooden boy who taught us not to lie, Pinocchio, and his wise sidekick and purveyor of bite-sized conscience, Jiminy Cricket. These are supposed to have been produced in 2010 and is listed as a part of KAWS’ collection. So whether these will eventually be mass-produced for the market or simply be shipped around the world for showcase, we may have to wait to find out. The exhibition will be running till January 2011, so there is still plenty of time to plan a trek out there!" - Freshness

Levi’s Workshops San Francisco

Levi's debuts it's first Workshop where it all started. Might have to swing by and check this out...

"Since its inception in 1873 as one of the original purveyors of American workwear, the Levi’s brand has been the uniform of choice for great American pioneers. Levi’s jeans have been worn by the craftsmen, laborers and artisans who defined the cultural landscape in America and have shaped the energy and events of our times. Beginning this July, the Levi’s brand will equip a new generation of pioneers and celebrate creative communities across the country by launching the Levi’s Workshops. The first Workshop will debut in San Francisco, followed by a second expression of the program in New York this Fall. Each Workshop is designed to focus on a specific craft – the first two being printmaking and photography respectively. The Levi’s Workshops will be multi-use spaces, featuring a functional craft-centric Workshop, community event space and retail storefront. The Levi’s Workshops will serve as community-based extensions of Forth campaign, paying homage to the principles of hard work and civic engagement. Central to the program will be collaborations with recognized pioneers from each community. For eight weeks, each workshop will invite the general public to participate in interactive demonstrations, educational programming and events.
The first of these locations will open to the public in San Francisco’s Mission, down the street from one of Levi’s original factories. The Workshop will feature letterpress, silkscreen and photocopy equipment for local artists and designers to create their own print-based artwork. Community groups and non-profit organizations will also be invited to access these resources and work with the Workshop staff. The space will also offer Levi’s denim and workwear product that embodies the spirit and craft of print design." - Hypebeast - L.Ruano
