Nissan – “Start of the Skyline Legend” | Video
"Legends are not typically created overnight, yet the Skyline GTs – made by Prince Motor Company before its acquisition by Nissan – became a legend during a single race in 1964. It was a GT-II race in the Suzuka Circuit where the Skyline would show its might against the race favorite, the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. In the seventh lap, the Skyline overtook the 904 Carrera GTS, proving its potential as the Japanese crowd went wild. It was, however, the German sports car that would take the lead in the next lap and take home the win. Although the Skyline did not come out on top, this legendary race sparked the fire in the Japanese company to develop the R380 Series, which eventually claimed the Grand Prix position after just two years. Skyline fans and automotive enthusiasts should watch the full documentary underneath to get a glimpse of history in the making." - Freshness

Petrolicious Checks Out Two Classic Skylines
San Francisco Skyline from Petrolicious on Vimeo.
"Petrolicious is back with a new video and this time around the focus is on two classic Nissan Skylines. Shot on a drizzly day in San Francisco, the crew at Petrolicious caught up with Ivan Jaramillo, the proud owner of a Hakosuka and Kenmeri Skyline, to talk about the cars. Having grown up as a fan of the two cars it was only natural that when the opportunity to purchase these Skylines came up, Jaramillo pounced on it. Here he talks about what they mean to him, why they are so special and how the two models differ as they get put through their paces in San Francisco. Check out the video for a look at these rarely seen beauties." - Hypebeast

Mercedes-Benz – “NEXT A-Class” Japanese Anime Campaign | Video
"If you’re an internationally recognized automaker and you want to break into the Japanese market with your latest high-end ride, you probably can’t go wrong with anime. Well, that’s exactly what Mercedes-Benz did with their latest video, with one of Japan’s biggest stuidios, Production I.G., taking on the animation work, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame designing the characters, and Miyuki Sawashiro lending the vocals. Unlike the rest of the industry’s commercials, which are recycled from those played in Europe and the United States, this type of targeted marketing at a younger, upper middle-class driver is obviously a move that the German brand is counting on to work. The plot of the video is a little silly with an A-Class chasing a noddle truck, but – hey – we’re talking about here so it looks to be working just fine. View it after the click." - Freshness

BMW M: The Making of an M Print
"Capable of a 0 to 60 sprint time of 4.1 seconds, the all new BMW M6 Coupe has rubber-burning power that leaves a lasting impression, both figuratively and literally. Those literal impressions were captured for M fans worldwide, taking the form of tire tread autographs captured by Matt Mullins, chief driving instructor at the BMW Performance Driving School. Matt admits to driving in variously unique circumstances, but never one this strange: namely, driving across paper while ink is sprayed onto the rear tires as the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60. See how BMW engineers transformed the M6 Coupe into a mobile printing press in the video below." - Freshness

Manufacturing the Porsche Crest | Video
"The artisans at Porsche Classic are reproducing the brand’s iconic crests for the Porsche 356 or early 911s, using the same materials and colors from the original versions. To get it right, experts delved into the origin of the crest, which dates back to a meeting in 1952 between Ferry Porsche and U.S. importer Max Hoffman in which they discussed a quality seal for the Type 356. That same year, advertising manager Herrmann Lapper and designer Franz Xaver Reimspieß created the preliminary design that’s still used today. The composition features a gold shield, at the center of which is the horse from the official coat of arms of Stuttgart, as well as the name of the city. Surrounding the emblem are red and black state colors, along with antlers from the crest of Württemberg-Hohenzollern. The reproduced crests must undergo the same quality tests as the original, including a simulation of a stone impact test using a ballistic firing range at the Research and Development Centre in Weissach, as well as 240 hours in a salt spray chamber. The care that goes into making the badge is testament to Porsche’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Check out the video below." - Freshness

2013 Subaru WRX & WRX STI Special Editions
"Just in time for Halloween, Subaru has unveiled special editions of the 2013 WRX and WRX STI, both set to debut at this week’s SEMA show. The vehicles are set apart by a Tangerine Orange paint job with black accenting at the wheels, front fender badging and side mirrors. Inside the cabin, the colors are reversed, with dark interiors highlighted by contrast orange stitching on the seats, doors and shift boot, as well as the custom trimmed floor mats. Mechanically speaking, the special edition cars are no different from their standard counterparts, meaning the WRX and WRX STI are powered by Subaru 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer engines with 265 and 305 horsepower, respectively. 200 examples of each model are scheduled to go on sale in Spring 2013." - Freshness

Video: When Outrageous Was Possible – The Lamborghini Countach
When Outrageous Was Possible from Petrolicious on Vimeo.
"Designed in 1971, the Lamborghini Countach turned 41 in 2012 and still today it turns more heads on the street than most other super sports cars. At the time the car was only produced in a run of 2000 units. Auto enthusiast James Chen talks about his love for the car and what makes it so special today.
'There was a time when an art form known as coachbuilding existed.
Back then, the coachbuilder did not have to answer to a CFO.
Back then, the coach builder did not have to compromise his vision due to government regulations.
Back then, the outrageous was possible.
The Lamborghini Countach could only have been born then.
Drive tastefully.'

The Audi quattro Slot Car Experience
"In anticipation of the brand-new 2013 A4, Audi commissioned the world-renowned track builders from Slot Mods USA to handcraft the unique Audi quattro Slot Car Experience. An industrial laser scanner was used to generate the digital outline of the model cars, then body shells were created on a 3D printer and paired with separately sourced four-wheel-drive slot car chassis.
To reproduce the Audi A4 handling characteristics in a slot car, they spent hours testing and custom tuning the traction magnets on each vehicle – while still leaving enough play for racing to remain competitive.
In a typical slot-car setup, drivers use a handheld resistor to modulate voltage to the track and, in turn, the speed of the slot car. This nearly 100-year-old system forces the driver to race from a bird’s-eye view trackside, instead of the driver’s seat where they should be. To change this, Audi developed a custom iPad app to pair with their in-car cameras – putting the driver right in the cockpit for the first time ever.

Aston Martin DBR1 1:1 Scale Model | By EVANTA MOTOR
This is unbelievable and so awesome, considering the scale and detail...
"Similar to the Evanta Motor Company‘s previous project with Aston Martin, this DBR1 model is special on multiple levels. One, it’s a 1:1 scale reproduction of the vehicle that Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori drove to win the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans. Two, the model is handmade and features an impressive level of detail: the DBR1 body shell comes with accurately upholstered seats, four 16-inch Aston Martin wire wheels wrapped in Dunlop race tires, a machined aluminum gear knob and gear lever, and full dashboard finished in textured satin and equipped with Smiths gauges and period switches. (It even comes with a replica of the Le Mans trophy.) And finally, the entire model is presented in the style of an AirFix Kit, with the full-on parts tree packaging. There’s only one in existence, and it’s scheduled to be auctioned during Goodwood Revival weekend at the Goodwood circuit in the U.K. via: Autoblog" - Freshness

Porsche Panamera Turbo – “Cyrano” Tuning Kit | By HAMANN-Motorsport
It's been awhile since I've seen any recent posts/updates regarding the awesome Porsche Panamera. Here's an amazing, clean and somewhat aggressive kit from Hamann...
"With the right amount of money, you can have the best of both worlds later on this year as HAMANN-Motorsport‘s Cyrano Tuning Kit goes on sale. Specifically designed and made for the 493 horsepower Porsche Panamera Turbo sedan and its performance focus 543 horsepower Turbo S counterpart, the Cyrano kit promises a horsepower boost to 595 horsepower on both models. The kit goes on further with a lower suspension package and new 22-inch wheels. A new aero kit with side skirts, front and rear fenders, larger rear wing, plus a new carbon fiber hood and new exhausts, all to improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency. HAMANN-Motorsport estimates the upgrades will give the car a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.9 seconds. But the best part, you will still have room to pick up your kids after school." - Freshness

The popularity and continued development for parts and modifications for the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S just keep on coming...
"With the popularity of the Toyota 86, known as Scion FR-S in the USA, one can only imagine that aftermarket tuners are working overtime to prepare parts and kits for the sports coupe. WALD INTERNATIONAL is one of the first companies to unveil upgrades for the aforementioned car, and they have nailed the design in their signature style. At this point, the body kits are just cosmetic makeover, consisting of front spoiler, side skirts, ducktail boot, and rear bumper housing vertical double-exhaust pipes on each side. Lastly, the larger wheels and lowered suspension package completes the aggressive stance." - Freshness

Toyota TRD GT86 Special Edition
Yes, Toyota. Please continue to push and bring back your influences in the sports car space. Now where's Honda/Acura...
"Toyota has made their re-entry into the sports car category with a bang, as the GT86 is gaining popularity internationally. It is safe to assume that most of its owners will not keep the vehicle stock standard, giving room for tuning houses to their part. TRD, an acronym for Toyota Racing Development, is a division in Toyota specializing in modifying Toyota vehicles, and this is their first attempt at improving the GT86. This model debuted in Japan earlier this year at the Tokyo Auto Salon, and now it is slated to go on sale in UK from early next year. Upgrades include a modest custom body kit, exhaust system, and 18-inch wheels for the exterior, along with bucket seats, Sports Meter Link System, consisting of water temperature, oil temperature and pressure gauges, and red push start button. via: Carscoop" - Freshness

"Professional rally driver and DC Shoes co-founder Ken Block has released the latest video in his insane Gymkhana series – Gymkhana 5: Ultimate Urban Playground.
using a modified 2012 ford fiesta rally car, the streets throughout the entire san francisco bay area are transformed into a gymkhana course: a track where drivers navigate a series of drifts and stunts through pre-determined obstacles.Watch the crazy rally car action in the video here above." - High Snobiety
filmed over four days, ’gymkhana five’ is a follow up to ‘gymkhana four’ which used universal studios as a set to create a hollywood-like high speed driving scene. each of the videos in the series situates the extreme motorsport in the unexpected context of the everyday. like all rally cars, the vehicle is a modified version of a production model, in its new iteration utilizing a 650 horsepower engine which achieves 0 to 60 mph (0 – 100 km/h) in 1.8 seconds, with a lightweight carbonfibre body that enables the craft to perform jumps, turns, and other maneuvers unlike its street-legal counterpart.

Fiat 550 Italia – Ferrari 458 Powered Concept | By LAZZARINI DESIGN
This reminds me of when they gutted a Smartcar and put a Hayabusa engine in there. I can only imagine how insane this Fiat 500 will be with a 4.5L V8 from a Ferrari 458...
"Lazzarini Design introduces a concept that installs supercar power in a tidy Fiat 500 package. Dubbed the 550 Italia, the vehicle has a rear-mounted 4.5-liter V8 taken from a Ferrari 458 Italia. The engine is detuned from 570 horsepower to a relatively more manageable 550 horses, and the wheelbase is extended by about a foot to accommodate the engine and transmission. Additional modifications include a widebody kit, new bumpers, roof-mounted functional air intake and a large rear wing. Lazzarini Design is currently asking for $550,000 from investors to bring the Fiat 550 Italia to market." - Freshness

Nissan Juke Nismo
So happy to see this. Considering the Juke-R is so out of reach, this might be another option for those who are a fan of the Juke design. While it's not even close to being a happy medium between a standard and the "R," it's a start...
"Rolling up in Nissan’s Juke range is the Nismo model. It includes a more aggressive aero package than before, complete with new front and rear bumpers, wider wheel arches, side skirts, a tailgate spoiler and a new grille, sitting on wider 18-inch alloys. The interior’s kitted out with a sporty control surfaces and red-stitched, suede-covered sport buckets with greater lateral support. The Nismo does hold a standard Juke spec of a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. However, it’s enhanced upon the 188 horsepower of the basic model through stiffer suspension, revised steering geometry and performance-tuned traction control with torque vectoring. It’s a beast.
The car’s to be unveiled at this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with a number of Nissan-powered vehicles on the grid. Expect the car to be available on the market from the start of the new year, starting from Europe and Japan, with America following suit.
Detailed images follow after the click." - High Snobiety
